Description The Producer is primarily responsible for budgeting, scheduling, staffing, tracking development, ensuring team deliverables are met in a timely manner, and reporting team progress Studio management. The Producer is also responsible for project relations and team deliverables with all departments outside the Studio, including marketing/PR, QA, OEM, and Licensing. Position Responsibilities: · General Team & Contractor Management 35% · Scheduling & Tracking 25% · Marketing & Publishing Relations 15% · Staffing/Personnel 15% · Budgeting & P&L Management 10% Duties: General Team & Contractor Management · Be the primary advocate for the project within the Activision organization. · Provide the link between all areas of the game (Central Art, Design, Programming), so that they are all working as one team in the most effective and efficient manner possible. · Ensure assets and project materials are maintained in a workable condition. · Manage Associate Producers and set the tone and pace for the work environment on project. · Manage contractors. · Organize and disseminate information to the team. · Track OEM and License opportunities. Scheduling & Tracking · Work with developers in creation of product's schedule, milestones, pathways, and overall plan. · Track developer's progress and address any deficiencies as assumptions and progress changes. · Provide timely risk assessments for project to Studio management, with proposed solutions. Marketing & Publishing Relations · Guide developer's relationship with Publishing; contribute to the creation of the marketing and publishing plan. · Guide relationships with International Territories, QA, OEM, License, etc. for product. Staffing/Personnel · Conduct project interviews and address staffing, compensation and personnel issues. · Develop the skills of team personnel and assist them with their career paths. Budgeting & P&L Management · Create and maintain project budget, including evaluating and scrubbing down project budget and costs on a monthly basis, as well as creating timely cost to complete reports. · Assist in maintenance of project P&L.
Qualifications Requirements: · College degree preferred; Professional or advanced degree a bonus. · Associate Producer experience on a minimum of two major titles a plus, with good on-time history with regards to areas of responsibility, or equivalent game development experience. · Experience as a project lead managing developers in delivering SKUs for two or more projects (internal or external), or equivalent game development experience. · Needs to have good comprehension of all aspects of multimedia / game production (graphics, design, programming, audio/video, QA, and localization) · Needs to have knowledge of PC hardware, operating systems, and standard APIs; or familiarity with PSX and N64 hardware, development tools, and product submission procedures. · Must have good communication skills to work closely with many internal and external groups. · Must be familiar with standard project accounting procedures. · Should have comprehensive knowledge of one or more game genres – competitive products, demographics, market preferences and biases, etc.
Location/Relocation: This is onsite, fulltime position located in the San Francisco Bay Area. Relocation assistance WILL BE provided for candidates located within the United States.
