Gmax P38 tutorial help

I have recently downloaded Gmax and Im going throught the tutorials.

I am trying to do the P38 tutorial and am having trouble. Trying to make the "Configuration box" around the aricraft drawing, i follow the instruction to the letter but my box is allways turning out too small and the wrong shape.

I have tryed to attach a screen shot to show my problem, though its a bit small

There are some major problems with that particular tutorial, the most glaring of which is - even if you managed to complete it and compile for flight simulator - your aircraft would be flying backwards...

Also, using the method describe in that tutorial for "Viewport backdrops" is quite possibly the worst possible method one could choose... ;)


...note that in the "Left Viewport" your aircraft is facing right!

I wasnt going to put it into flightsim. Just to learn how to make models in general.

I was having trouble trying to get each view to line up with each other. I tryed to draw my own box around the aircraft trying to line it up in all 3 views, but cant get the background images to line up

Whether you are going to flightsim or not, the specific techniques for modelling remain constant.


Particularly of interest to you would be the technique of creating a "calibration box" on which the 3-view are displayed.  There are even instructions on a variant to the technique whereby the drawing itself is displayed in the Viewport as "illuminated lines hanging in virtual space" with everything else transparent.
