skinning question

because the character i'm skinning has alot of spikes and polygons sticking farther out than the usual arm and leg locations, the skinning mod wont pick up on those verticies.

how do I add verticies to the envolope and while I'm at it remove certain verticies as well.

You want to do the weighting in vertex mode rather than envelope mode.  Check these out... Adjusting skin weighting by vertex and Vert weighting tips.

i always throught the skin tutorial was to add skin to the person. lol

When you bake a vertex it will not be affected by any subsequent changes made to any envelope it falls within.  Its weighting can only be changed with the Abs. Effect spinner or in the Weight Table.  Cool model, BTW.
