LEAD DESIGNER
As a seasoned veteran with very involved foreknowledge on game production, you will be first reporting to the Creative Director and review your plan of the week. Afterwards you head over to your design team and figure out how to integrate the character's abilities and restrictions with the design of the level. In addition, you review the bugs and errors in your plan, and create a way to efficiently repair them using your team. Your ideal goal is complete integration between the characters and each level, with each level playing to the character's various skills. You oversee a team in order to make this happen, and keep in close contact with the engineers and artists in order to efficiently create the game to your specifications. You help set the standard and guide your team of designers, engineers, and artists to the next level.

What You Will Be Bringing:
 - Previous shipment of at least one console game in a lead designer role.
 - Possession of strong hands-on experience with level design, writing scripts and implementation utilizing a 3D software package – preferably Maya.
 - Demonstration of solid writing skills - possess the ability to clearly and concisely define game areas and feature sets.
 - Ability to consider game-wide mechanics including interface, pacing and story, game balance, and difficulty curve.
 - Possession of the ability and desire to contribute in a highly creative environment, and provide unique concepts and solutions.
 - A good understanding of the game market, can analyze competitive products to identify key strengths and weaknesses.
 - Ability to quickly adapt to change, finding creative solutions and maintaining positive momentum in the face of adversity.
 - Ability to communicate, evolve, and proactively push the game design; and moreover, have a passion for playing / creating creative and quality videogames.
 - Fundamental knowledge of game design and ability to create rough 3D test environments
 
Location/Relocation:
This is onsite, fulltime position located in Santa Monica, CA. Relocation assistance WILL BE provided for candidates located within the United States.

Salary:
$80-100K Base + Bonus + Full Benefits
