LEAD TOOLS PROGRAMMER: You are the efficiency maestro. You start off your day showing the art team your latest tool that increases the integration of their creations into the pipeline. In doing so, you have allowed them to focus more on creating what they want, rather than checking the pipeline and messing with format changes. You then have lunch with one of the Lead Designers and show him how you are going to help his team focus more on designing levels and seeing them fully integrated in the system quicker than before through quicker, unique and creative build processes that you have created. You go back to your team of 4-5 Tools Programmers and divvy up the tasks according to what you believe is not only most efficient, but also most effective for the entire development team. Our client is looking for a highly motivated individual and an avid game player to create and maintain their next-generation development content creation pipelines for their latest upcoming next-gen release.
What You'll Bring: - A previously held tools programming lead position on at least 1 shipped game published on multiple platforms. - A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent industry experience. - Minimum of 5 years of programming experience, with demonstrated experience in 3D graphics, 3D game math, animation, numerical methods and linear algebra - Experience writing tools and exporters for 3D editors - Demonstrated skill in sensible API design. - Experience with Maya and in writing Maya plug-ins. - Experience with Maya and in writing Maya plug-ins. - Service-oriented attitude and a talented eye for efficiency and workflow. - Excellent documentation habits including code and how-to guides. - Experience developing Windows applications, using .NET, .MFC, WTL, C#, Visual Basic or Win32 API. - Fluency in C/C++ and STL and excellent C/C++ programming skills. - Experience with scripting languages such as Lua, Perl or Python. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to proffer reasonable time estimates for scheduled tasks, to assist team members in assigning time estimates to their work, and to work within a schedule. - Self-motivated, with a strong work ethic, able to successfully multitask under considerable pressure.
What They'll Like: - 5 Years experience in both tools core technology programming for Xbox360, PS2/3, Xbox, Gamecube, and/or PC pipeline development - 5 years experience in the management and scheduling of a programming team - Experience with low-level device based programming and assembly languages.
Location/Relocation: This is onsite, fulltime position located in the San Francisco Bay Area. Relocation assistance WILL BE provided for candidates located within the United States.
Salary: $90-110 Base + Bonus + Full Benefits
