Max Mini Tute Library - How to make & How do I
Posted 10-Jun-2007 1:18 PM
Modified by bhnh On 14-Jun-2007  7:21 AM

Many members of this forum have contributed some really helpful mini-tutorials to answer a wide range of questions.  It was suggested (thanks, Caprier) that a single thread be made with direct links to these mini-tutes.  It would help to avoid having to hunt for some tute you vaguely remember seeing; it might also help to cut down on the number of common questions that are repeatedly asked.

If you've done a tutorial/mini-tute/graphic demonstration, or if you know of an off-forum tute with a direct link, please do post a link in this thread.  To keep things as mininally confusing as possible, I'd just ask that you only post to this thread if you're adding a tute or a link.  Thanks!

ok , here i go :

how to reset the measures of an object

1) select the object

2) goto tools panel

3) reset xform

4) reset selected

a new Xform modifier has been added to the object you selected and the object now has reset its measures and 3ds now recognize the real measure of the object ( scaling an object with the standard scaling tool is the biggest fault you ever see in Computer Graphic )

This is absolutely brilliant! What a massive help to novice modellers like me and the many others who need help. By the way, you missed the rocket tutorial you created for a question of mine - which worked a treat.

A massive thanks to you bhnh.

Massive tutorial library by members of maxforums.org about 3ds max and other CG related stuff.

These are essential to anyone seriously interested in surface shading (especially Part II) :

The TSCC codec (tscc.exe) from TechSmith might be needed.

One of many ways to make Car Doors, Hoods and Other Panels with NURMS.
Now there are selecting tools in Max that make it easier. It's the geometry that matters.

Getting Sharp Edges and Corners with MeshSmooth, using the Separate by Smoothing Groups option.

Glued Seams with NURMS on light materials (cardboard, plastic, leather...).
