Downloading models from Turbosquid and file formats
Posted 04-May-2007 1:45 PM

Greets all,

I have a question regarding downloads from Turbosquid. I've not yet purchased a model from Turbosquid and work with both Lightwave and 3DS Max. For the models that are available in various file formats (i.e. .lwo, .max) upon purchase, are you given the option to download all file formats or must you choose only one? Thank you.

done a quick search in the FAQs and forums. couldn't find an answer there.
I know that TS helps users convert models to other formats if the user can't do it themselves. you need to contact TS and ask them if you can purchase multiple copies and count as one. alternatively, you can do the conversion yourself if you need to - you mentioned LW and Max. search this forums for some 3d conversion programs links, or you can use a format that's interchangeable between both programs. e.g. .3ds or .obj.

cheers,

Hello, I appreciate your reply. Hmmm, Although I'm aware of file conversion utilities, it could be said that I don't always have the utmost confidence in them. I've had experiences where the conversion is not quite complete, or thorough, and you end up with relatively minor but bothersome glitches in the new model. If I must choose only one format I will. Was just curious. Probably best to take up your advice and contact TS directly about it. Thanks.
