Here's the sexy pitch:
Leading Hollywood feature production company is putting together a team of effects professionals to do our effects work in-house. We currently are looking for an Effects Supervisor to manage this department.
Here's the not-so-sexy pitch: -We make very low budget Sci-Fi and Horror features direct to video (between $250K-$1M).
-We shoot almost exclusively on Sony F900s (HD for those taking notes).
-We don't know what the hell we are doing in regards to effects. We've farmed the last 15 movies out, and we want to bring it in-house (yeah, silly I suppose...but looking at our slate of 10 "effects" films in 2007 it's probably the best thing we can do).
-We're crazy. We love making movies. We don't sleep. We make a feature every four weeks. We push and play hard. We don't pay well (there's always a catch), so we let creative people be creative.
Here's the game plan:
-We want to find a supervisor that can manage this department. They will set up the equipment and software (none have been purchased yet), hire the staff, and organize the work flow. This person should know a lot about 'everything' because...well...at the end of the day they are responsible to meet the insane deadlines it takes to make a film from start to finish in four months.
-What kind of effects in each film? Everything. Mattes, 3D, Titles, Roto, Comps, Modeling...The good news is that our master is HD res...not 2K-6K.
-Our plan is to pay this person $75K/year...so it's probably not for the most seasoned person, but we don't want recents grads either...(no offense, we've all been there). BUT we are flexible with the pay and structure of this supervisor.
-You will work at our Hollywood office with all of the toys.
About "us":
-We've been around for almost a decade
-We have over 100 films in our library.
-Most of our original productions premiere on the 'Sci-Fi Channel'.
We want to start this right away, so please email your resume to:
Ross at: ilpross@yahoo.com
DO NOT SEND ATTACHMENTS IN THE EMAILS, but you can send links.
We will also be posting for an effects staff...but...first things first...
