Mobile Industry Kicking In
Posted 18-Aug-2006 9:41 PM

We are witnesses to another software revolution as more and more companies are switching to the mobile market.

It seems that this market is splitted in 2: the mobile games and the mobile applications.

The biggest players are clearly in the gaming industry, starting with Gameloft and JAMDAT (now called EA Mobile as big EA bought the deal, clearly seeing the opportunity) and continuing with smaller and insignifiant production houses.

It seems that none of the big players is interrested in developing mobile applications and some new companies started to cover the niche as soon as possible (before the big players realize it).

There are two examples of this sort.
One is Advanced Mobile Applications Ltd., based in UK, which started softly on the market with a Zodiac application and promises to deliver some more lifestyle applications in the near future. These guys are so carefull with making noise that they didn't build a site for the corporation.
The second is GnoSoft, based in Romania, which seems to have better products (interactive and addictive) but which haven't released anything (at least on the US market). They have a website (but it's clearly still under construction).

While the mobile hardware is rapidly evolving it will be nice to have some good software to run on that hardware.
Hope more companies will invade this business and the fierce competition will start in order to give us as results good utilities and spending time software for our mobiles.
