I think it would be nice to have chatrooms on the turbosquid site. I know it was already mentioned in another thread but if this is breaking a rule that bad then... Well.. Browser will yell at me right?? =]
First off, it could be a java-based chatroom, there are plenty of sites which offer free applets for it.
Second, it could have its own link on the menu from the main page (along with products, forum, etc...) so that users who aren't interested in it aren' slowed down by its presence (it takes a while to load sometimes)
Third, I think this would be great because all of the users on the site have no way to communicate with eachother except comments and the forums... Which I feel is a let-down to some...
And I know the subject would arrise of who would be to moderate them, so I'll include my opinion on that too. :) Just use word filtering and things of the like, and if something gets out of hand a user could report it in which the offensive user could be banned from that room...
Also, maybe have different types of chat rooms like one to talk about products, one for just general chatting etc...
Lastly, if you used a IRC based chatroom for the site then users could also access it via programs like mIRC and others...
Just my opinion :) I'd really like to see this implemented, as I'm sure many others would too... :/
