There are dozens of tutorials on making guns use google ...any will work in most applications(even if the tut is for an app your not using) long as you just take the principles from each tutorial and apply it to the tool set you have in the app your using.

Yes they still make blender, it has grown alot, some time ago the film 'elephants dream' was made with it.

 To easily make 3d guns you would have to use 3dsmax or probably rhino 3d i would prefer 3ds max and you can start by using rectangles an extruding to the side by converting the rectangle to etible poly or using the line tool.their is a nice tutorial on 3d total.com and if you wanna learn more try practiceing with what you can do with the program and check many tutorials.for starters if you need a freeware try blender as well,but for easy guns your best bet is 3ds
max.

You can use almost any application that supports box/polygon modeling... that's probably the simplest technique to use for something like that...  Heck, Blender and Milshape are free (and milkshape is used for many game models).

You don't need to find a specific GUN tutorial... you need to learn the basic technique that you will use to build ANYTHING...

Find a BOX MODELING or a LOW POLYGON MODELING tutorial on the net and look at how they do things... It's very fundamental, and normally pretty quick. 

Once you get a basic skillset down you will be able to do many things with it... you will hardly every find a tutorial on exactly the one thing you are building unless it's a person or a vehicle, lol.
