Ink Splatter Effect
Posted 13-Apr-2006 6:36 PM

Hi there,

How would you create an watery Ink Splatter effect? Like if we get a wet paint brush and we flick it against a piece of paper, the paint would splatter and drip down abit.

Do we use a plug-in? or do we animate it manually (animating a mask)?
Sounds like doing it manually seems really time-consuming, but if that's the only way around it, I don't mind. After all, it takes hard work to see results.

Thanks!

Bubz

Being the convenience enthusiast that I am...

I would go to a hardware store, buy a peice of plexiglass, a can of paint, and a paint brush, film myself flicking the paintbrush on the plexiglass at the appropriate angles/lighting, and then use aftereffects to composite it in your scene.

In this case the 'real thing' would be the quickest to produce, in my opinion.

Ink spatter in APS, using the brush tool and adjusting the amount. Then export to AI and make it drip or run whichever saving the layers and then import it to AE
