If you want us to help you, you need to put in more details on your problem. Right now, based on your message, we have no clue as to what the problem is and therefore, cannot help you.

Perhaps asking the question in the correct forum would not be out of place either!

If you are truly speaking of "Render" in the sense that is commonly assumed, I'm not surprised at all, since GMax does NOT have a Rendering engine!

If you mean, you can not see a "Perspective Viewport Render," that's a different problem altogether.

What part of "there is no renderer in GMax" is unclear?  The program simply cannot do what you want to accomplish. Time to move on... ;)

It is a good thing that you are a newbie. I have very good advice for you. Quit. That's right just quit. You sound very promising as a 3d artist (Though I do not know you). So my absoloute best advice is to get with Blender 3d. Go to www.blender.org. Personally I became a GMax Professiosnal at my 3d company. Then I tripped over Blender 3d, It was the best thing since sliced bread (Or GMax in this case) You can Rnder, Paint, Make movies entirely, Photorealistic Images, For absoulutely nothing. It is free. Open Source. Also get yafray. That is all I can help you with. You will find everything you need at the website mentioned earlier, including about yafray. I promise you will not regret it. If you need further info do not hesitate to email me at xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx@xxxxxxxxx

Moderator comment : If you do not like nor use GMAX, then what are you doing taking the time to answer a GMAX forum thread ?

I hate how everyone always puts GMax down, it is really a wonderful program and very easy to learn...  :/
And as for rendering, you can just use GMax render suite which is a plugin for GMax, though I've no idea where I got it from.  Try searching on www.google.com for it...  Or maybe they have a post about it in the forums?  No idea.  Good luck.  And don't be mean to GMax! :)

gee what a bunch of D**ks a guy asks a simple question and you are no help at all I can't believe this I am quiting this site if turbosquid is so lame and can't help a newbie out see ya

Moderator comment :
1) you are quitting just because of one reply ?  Looks like you are jumping to conclusion to quick and most probably quits very easily after one simple problem. If you want to go see a movie and the first person you ask tells you it sucks, are you going to decide to not go see it at all and conclude it sucks ???

2) if a guy goes to a garage and tells the mecanic "My car doesn't work", the mecanic will probably ask "What's wrong with it?". But to that, if that guy replies "It makes a weird noise", what would be the mecanic's answer and what will be the rest of the discussion be like ?  Rule number one when asking for help : be specific, give as much infos as you can and take the time to read the replies to answer in the same way.

3) In ALL forums, there will always be people putting you down, doing unclear answers, doing stupid responses or just be a plain dumb ass.... , these are facts of life and should not convince you that the product, nor the helping people, are not good at all.
