combustion acting weird on two machines........
Posted 01-Dec-2005 12:58 PM

so we have a few seats of combustion, last month the guy next to me had is compbustion 3 crash when ever he tried to open an existing workspace or when importing a file. now this month my machine is doing the same thing. we don't have any viruses so that's not the problem. anyone experience this?

I would start with checking your video card drivers. Maybe try a different version and see if there is a qualified driver for your card to be used with combustion.

it worked for months, all of a sudden this started happening, so i don't think it's the drivers, it trns out there was somthing running in the background of the machines that was giving combustion problems, it works now, but still not sure why.

finally figured out why this happens with combustion..............

nvidia nview was enabled which when enabled runs "rundll32.exe" in the processes this conflicts with combustion and causes it to crash immeditetly without warning.  disabling it, removes the "rundll32.exe" from the processes which then allows combustion to work properly.
