Update: everyone from Turbo Squid is accounted for. The situation is calming, and we are all getting our families settled. We are now in truly "virtual" mode, with people working in San Francisco, LA, Houston, Baton Rouge, Milwaukee, North Carolina, Orlando, and a few other smaller towns like Jennings, Louisiana.
Hopefully everytihng should be running at 100% for the business, or close. to it We have some orders to ship out, and such, but other than that we are doing very well. We are all thrilled to have jobs and a business that could survive such a hit. There are many people (last claim was 750,000 for Louisiana) that have lost their jobs in the last week. It's going to be very hard for all of them to be displaced and make ends meet. So once people get past the immediate survival issues, there is a long road of how to live for several months until the economy is rebuilt.
For everyone who has helped with Katrina or would if there was something they could do, the outporing of support has been the difference between despair and hope. Every school we've talked to will take our kids, everyone we know has offered shelter, and people have done everything they can to make it work. It's the most touching and powerful comment on humanity I've ever experienced.
