Turbo Squid status

Just to let you all know.... Turbo Squid is (was???) based in New Orleans. New Orleans has been hit by a Cat 5 hurricane.

Our servers are not based in New Orleans, so most of TS's tech side is fine. We did loose our email server, but that has been replicated.

There are only a couple of employees that have not been accounted for, but most of us are relatively well. All our staff has been spread out to various parts of the country.

As a whole, we're doing fine. We have plenty of issues and are working to bring secondary services back online. Email and support issues will be dealt with when we can get our staff connected and working.

Rest assured, TS will not be going away. This is a huge inconvenience, but we will all be working very hard to recover.

Thanks for your patience.

Glad to hear you're doing well!!!

I've posted it into another thread and I'd like to post it here again:

Dear fellow vendors! This is not official, it is just an idea of a "colleague" of yours: wouldn't it be very cool if you'd donate at least a small share of the salaries you are being paid from this company in New Orleans, which we all know so well and rely on, to the many victims in New Orleans and all the other most severly affected cities within the path of devastation from "Katrina"?

If you agree, the American Red Cross might be your first choice: https://www.redcross.org/

Of course there are also many other charities and organizations, which you can support! Any donation, any amount as small as it may be, will sure help!!

Glad that you're mainly well. It's a good idea to let us know, whats going on with TS. And, perhaps, if we can help in any form.

RE: Turbo Squid status

Update: everyone from Turbo Squid is accounted for. The situation is calming, and we are all getting our families settled. We are now in truly "virtual" mode, with people working in San Francisco, LA, Houston, Baton Rouge, Milwaukee, North Carolina, Orlando, and a few other smaller towns like Jennings, Louisiana.

Hopefully everytihng should be running at 100% for the business, or close. to it We have some orders to ship out, and such, but other than that we are doing very well. We are all thrilled to have jobs and a business that could survive such a hit. There are many people (last claim was 750,000 for Louisiana) that have lost their jobs in the last week. It's going to be very hard for all of them to be displaced and make ends meet. So once people get past the immediate survival issues, there is a long road of how to live for several months until the economy is rebuilt.

For everyone who has helped with Katrina or would if there was something they could do, the outporing of support has been the difference between despair and hope. Every school we've talked to will take our kids, everyone we know has offered shelter, and people have done everything they can to make it work. It's the most touching and powerful comment on humanity I've ever experienced.

Matt

I'm glad to know that everyone from Turbosquid is ok. The last comments I've read in this forums was before the levees broke so I felt rather worried when I saw the last tv news, such things like water in the streets at 6 meters hight and so many victims.

Hope it goes well for all of you

From the entire team at Digital-Tutors, we are thrilled to hear everyone is accounted for and okay.  I recently spoke with Beau and as I mentioned to him, our thoughts and prayers have been with you in wake of this tragedy.  Please let us know if there is any other way we can help.

All of our best,

DT TEAM
