I think the majority of people working in the 3d creation world are young people of 20-35 years old.

So being at your age and starting to work with 3d is an advantage.

Keep working at it if you think this is the kind of job you would want and get to a proper school that teaches 3d stuff.

Wouldn't you want your name to appear at the end of a movie to show all your friends and family that you worked on it ?

Wouldn't you want to work on a super science-fiction movie with lots of martians, monsters, spaceships, ... ?

No plans of taking it up as a career though, just a hobby.

I am 15 years old and have just starting using GMax in the past month or so...  Me and my friends are already working on a game and plan to use GMax for all of the modeling. ;)  It's never too late to start, but always good to start early.  So I say stick with it :)

*EDIT*
Death....  Is that a Dark Archon in your avatar picture?  I've been wanting to make one of those in GMax but I can't figure out the light thing :(

Don't worry about that, we've been learning for about 4 years ;)

Actually there are game creation programs that do most of the work for you. Take a look I think they have free demos.

I find it funner to do the coding yourself but it can get frustrating sometimes..  And most programs like those are limited in one way or another; if you do the coding yourself, you have no limitations.

I code in java, but my friend Zaoz (a tag not a real name) codes in C++, which I am currently learning.  The game itself will be in C++.  But aside from java and C++ I also know a little BASIC and some Ruby.  Also if you count this as a language, HTML, Javascript, and Flash Action Script... :]

Why do you need all this information? :/ we're going straight unless one of my friends gets in touch with me because he is awesome at VB...  O_o Haven't heard from him in a year or so though.  :/
