Where to find a good computer...
Posted 24-Mar-2005 5:05 PM

The computer I have now is a laptop around 2 years old and it's not running so great anymore. I can hardly run photoshop now without it freaking out. And I definitely could not put XSI on it.
I'd like to find a good place to buy a new computer--perhaps a computer that can actually run XSI? Are there any suggestions on what computer to get and where? I'm a college student--so I can really only afford one around $1000.

Hello:
I'm 13.
I'm running a very old computer (seven years). It's a desktop with the following:
Intel Pentium II 400MHz.
128 MB RAM.
Video Card: Diammond Stealth S3 540 with 32 MB of RAM.
Windows XP Professional with no Service Pack.
I can run GMax, 3DSMAX 7, Mechanical Desktop, Solid Edge with just some problems of memory. You may disable some programs that starts with your Operating System. If you still having problems, you may backup your files, format your Hard Disk and Re-Install your OS and Programs.
Just a Suggestion.

Try www.newegg.com. They sell mostly computer parts, but I think they also sell fully made laptops and desktop computers. They have the best deals! I saw a Sony VAIO computer there with the following:

Intel Pentium dual-core T2370

2GB Memory 160GB HDD

Windows Vista Home Premium

The price was about $700
