Walking and talking with HumanIK

I'm new to this program somewhat - can anyone tell me how to use the 3DSmax morpher modifier and HumanIK together? When I use the morph modifier on the base models for speaking, the targets cause the model to revert to skin poses? If I make the targets with the exact same motion animation, the base model remains in a captured position and loses it's animated path.
