done a tank /done uv map /probs now how to keep detail in skin, help please how to get detail on uw map in game bf1942 usees dds file

this post is old but i am bored. you need the DDS plugin for Photoshop to save as a DDS. unfortunatly the BF1942 game engine doesn't allow you to render extreme detail. so the skin you made wont look as good in game. how a look at some of the other skins in the BF1942 RFA's and you will notice how detailed they are but half of those details aren't in game.

Extract the Texture.rfa into a folder YOU make called "New Textures". Now (assuming you already have the plugin for photoshop) Search the File extractionforthe Texture you want to Edit. I.E "Thom_o" for the thomson. You Can use the "Magic Wand" tool or the Magnetic lasso toool to outline your weaponplaneskin (any other texture your editing) and take a picture from your personal casche and copy and "Paste into" your selection outline weapon. After your through with your changes, re-pack your texture .rfa(MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BACK UP OF EVERY FILE(archives extures or what have you)        http://developer.nvidia.com/object/photoshop_dds_plugins.html
