Importing Trainz IM Files

I would like to import some existing Trainz Content into GMax (Seeing how other folks create content is my first step towards learing how), but can't figure out how to import an Trainz IM file and related conten... ?

Simply put, You can't import an IM file.

Can't do it I'm afraid. If you want some Gmax files for study, look at our content (creator kuid 225064:xxxxx) on Auran's DLS and we'll let you have Gmax files for anything you like the look of  if you e-mail us.

Hello Shoves.

I saw your kind offer to make  gmax files for trainz content available. I would greatly appreciate this as a learning tool, I have no intention of doing anything on a commercial basis. Does your offer still stand? By the way, I can't find an email address for you on this forum.

obviously you can import IM files, if the staff can do it then it can be done. Just the general public can't do it probably to protect the creator's hard work.

8) You cannot import .im files to gmax...ever.


The only files other than 3DsMax, and AutoCad, are .gmax files.


Here is a link to 3D FileViewer to use to view the .im files.


You can find the Content Creators Art Source Pack from Auran.


Here you can find the link for the Content Creators Guide.


In the CCG, you will find links to source files for lots of content, including locomotives, traincars, and interiors. These, include the .gmax files for your use, as long as you upload them to the Auran Download Station.


There is a new version of the CCG, for TRS2006.
