Easiest way I found to build Renegade levels with Max is to create them entirely in Max without buildings and then export to .3ds Afterwards you just have to play with the scale of the objects to match the size of the buildings in GMax. Alternatively, you can download and install the Tempest game pack for GMax, then export the Renegade buildings as Quake models. Import those models into Milkshape 3D and then export them as .3ds for Max to import. If you were part of the original Westwood team you would have the actual Exporter for 3DS Max. Personally, I save Max for doing my work and just use GMax for building levels. Saves a bit of time and headaches. If you're a pro in Max then GMax should be no prob for you. |
