The Creative Director is responsible for the setting and maintaining a consistent quality bar for artists inside and outside of TurboSquid. This individual will help develop and drive the high-level vision and art direction for a variety of Custom 3D projects. The Creative Director will also review and evaluate artistic decisions at every level of the project – ranging from questions about individual models to the top-level finished product.Position Requirements
Vision - This person will be the gatekeeper on artistic quality and will help define and implement the artistic vision at the micro and macro levels. Our ideal candidate will possess a razor-sharp, critical artistic eye and can communicate creative needs quickly to other artists for execution. As such, this person must understand the impact their artistic decisions will have on the technical aspects of our 3D projects. Finally, this individual must be willing to provide creative input on our pipeline automation tools’ design and implementation.
Artist Direction – Help manage internal and external artists by constantly providing artistic feedback and guidance. Being able to guide and teach artists creatively to help them not only achieve great results in the short term, but also grow and gain abilities for future work is a must.
We are looking for a well-seasoned 3D artist with an astute eye for realism that is tired of crazy production schedules, but wants to stay in the industry and work with a great group of people in a visually inspiring city. If we do our jobs well together, it will push the photoreal quality of 3D models to the next level and impact the millions of people that come to TurboSquid. TurboSquid does a significant volume of 3D modeling and rendering through our Custom 3D program, and has significant needs around our CheckMate certification program. You will also be working in the heart of several other next generation (but unannounced) innovations, where your discerning creative eye and attention to artistic detail are essential.
Contract work is possible, full-time is desired. We realize the industry shift where many of the most talented people are now freelancers, and are willing to accommodate as long as you can work out of our New Orleans office.More on Your Background
