The WV-2 Warning Star, later designated EC-121K, served with the U.S. Navy from 1954 until 1978. As the predecessor to the current E-3 Sentry AWACS, it was the first line of defense working in concert with picket ships to form the Atlantic Barrier (BarLant) between 1956 and 1965. The WV-2 was a variant of Lockheed's famous L-1049 Super Constellation aircraft, and this Navy version was known as 'Willie Victor' to it's aircrews. Based out of Argentia, Newfoundland, missions could last up to 20 hours. This aircraft, bureau number 141317 was assigned to VW-13 (Airborne Early Warning Squadron Thirteen), and was tasked with detection of Soviet bomber or missile attacks.
The .max model is NOT animated, but has adjusted pivot points for easy animation of elevators, rudders, ailerons, flaps, landing gear oleos, wheel rotation, nose wheel steering, Gear retraction, gear doors, propeller spinning, and crew doors.
In addition, an extra .max file has been included which contains a set of closed landing gear doors, and a set of propeller disks that give the appearance of spinning props.
Two .bmp textures are included to show the WV-2 in VW-13 livery.
