The Rene Herbst Highback Cord Chair is just one example of the pioneering use of industrial material that Rene Herbst was famed for. His development of this Highback Cord Chair was themed by the continuity of form that utilized elastic cords that at that time were used to wrap parcels. It was first released to the public at the Paris Salo d'Automne des Artistes Litterateurs in 1929. Rene Herbst founded the company Etablissements Rene Herbst in an effort to produce and sell his projects.
