Parasaurolophus is a Hadrosaur (duck billed dinosaur) from the late Cretaceous Era (73-76 Million years ago), that evolved from the plant eating onithipods of the late Jurassic and early Cretaceous periods. At an impressive 10m long, weighing in at 2.5 tonnes, the most distinctive feature of Parasaurolophus was its long, narrow, backward-curving head crest that could produced a deep, resonating sound to communicate with other herd members. Hadrosaurs were the largest land animals capable of running on two legs, while spending most of its day browsing on four legs.
