Microtubules act almost as a skeleton for the cell, forming its structure. One thing they are used for is vesicular transport, as well as many other cellular processes.

These are some 3D modeled microtubules good for placing in the background of any cell related scene. They are textured with composite maps and have self illumination on the edges along with a dent for the bump map to get them to look slightly fibrous. They can be duplicated and slightly altered or rotated to be used around the scene. There is also one close up Hi-Poly Microtubule made up of many smaller pieces. Uses default 3DS scanline renderer, for maximum compatibility.

Also included are assorted Particles that can be used as Proteins or any other flowing particle. They are perfect for animating along a spline to add movement and interest to the background in a scene.
