The Mk3A2 offensive hand grenade, often referred to as the concussion grenade, is designed to inflict casualties during close combat whilst minimizing danger to friendly personnel. The grenade is most effective in enclosed areas such as bunkers, buildings and fortified areas. It is also used for blasting or demolition tasks. The shockwave produced by this weapon is more powerful than that of the fragmentation grenade when used in enclosed areas, making it very lethal when used in this way. However it is much less effective than a fragmentation grenade when used in the open.

The Mk3A2 grenade contains 225g of TNT and weighs 440g in total. It can be thrown around 40 metres.
