You would need Shave and A Haircut for Maya 2011 in order to render the subtle/tiny hair, otherwise you would be able to render only the textured model without fur.
For an even better render quality you can increase the hair primitives count up to your machine memory limit.
The actual rendering time is about 2 minute for an HD rendering 1200x1200 frame (rendered on a system based on a single Pentium Quadcore with 8GB RAM)
--6 different hair systems for a total of about 50k hair prims.
*Please always use an updated Shave and a haircut release to avoid rendering issues.
The model is provided in the standard T-pose

RIG AND ANIMATION NOTES:
This model is rigged using simple ikHandles and NURBS primitive control objects to help achieve realistic animations of the limbs, joints, and muscles. Control objects can be easily manipulated through the transform tools to achieve desired animations.



3 animation sets have been included in a separate maya file (referenced to the main rig) to make them easier to use:

-fly (loop)- 48 frames
-fly around (loop)- 48 frames
-fly to camera- 150 frames


The 'fly to camera' animation is driven by an Animation Layer Rig.

You can setup the side to side fly distance, rotations, feet delay... and those parameters can be animated too!
