IMPORTANT NOTE: You may have to apply the image map manually in your application and results may vary, I found that I was able to import into Bryce 5 & 6 and re-apply the map with no difficulties and also import the 3DS back into max 8 and re-aply the image map with no difficulties, other applications may have different results depending on their mapping systems.
