Earth model with shaded relief for land and sea floor, with rivers slightly exaggerated, and perennial an non-perennial inland water.
All textures have approx. 4 km resolution (2-arc minute, 10800 x 5400 pixels). See the close-up shots for a preview of the resolution. There are approx. 136 MB of textures!
The model comes with a greyscale height map, a specular map for the ocean areas, and 2 different diffuse color maps,
one with the ocean relief pre-baked, and one with oceans tinted according to depth.
The pre-baked ocean relief map allows rendering of good-looking relief images even without a displacement map.
As a bonus a b/w land/ocean mask has been added, which allows to mask out the oceans if you need to customize the textures.
Material uses the Max scanline renderer.
Previews rendered with the standard Max scanline renderer and a displacement map applied.
The .max file contains a simple rotational animation of the globe. See the accompanying movie.
Polygons counts are for the .obj file, the .max file uses a sphere primitive with a Disp.Approx. modifier.
