max displaced gravel grass - Vray Gravel and Grass by mmvis

this is a preset for hires displaced vray Gravel and vrayfur Grass

just apply max modifiers of the base mesh (plane and pot) to your object
the diffuse matieral uses a dirtpass for darker edges to other objects
this is a max2010 and 2011 file that uses vray 1.5 sp5 and its displacement

there is a text file included in the zip file that explains how to use vray fur for grass without memory problems.
even lightcache renders quickly without falling into an infinite loop which is a known problem - this tutorial explains how to bypass that and render big areas with fur quickly and clean
