| Arne Jacobsen’s The Egg chair dates from 1958 and was originally designed for SAS Royal Hotel, which Arne Jacobsen designed from start to finish. The Egg chair was part of the interior design of the finished hotel and in addition to this creation, the interior design also comprised fittings, furniture and lighting fixtures designed by Arne Jacobsen. The Egg chair is a sculpted piece of furniture without straight lines of any kind, featuring organic curves that perfectly come together to form – as the name suggests - an egg. One of the reasons why The Egg chair became so famous is precisely because it represented a departure from earlier stringent furniture design which featured sharp contours. Model contains normalmaps, materials and VRAY ready. |
