This is an example of a standard WWII German Field equipment array. Just about every soldier issued a K98 Mauser would have worn such an arrangement. This arrangement would have consisted of a K98 bayonet, shovel, gas mask and canister, bread bag, canteen, mess kit, two cartridge pouches holding a total of 90 rounds of 7.92 MM ammo all attached to a belt and held up by the Y-belt.
