The LAV-25 is an all-terrain, all-weather multi-purpose vehicle with night sight capabilities. All versions carry an M-60 7.62mm (.30 cal.) machine gun and other armament depending on their configuration, plus eight smoke grenades.

The entire system can be transported by large cargo aircraft and/or helicopters, and requires a maximum of three minutes to make it fully amphibious. The LAV-25 is made in six configurations: battle vehicle, anti-tank, mortar, logistics, recovery and command/control.
