The Guanyinge Monastery is located in the county seat of Shuoxian,enormous in scale and magnificient in structure. Extant are the entrance gateway with its lobby, and the halls to Avalocitesvara, to Maitreya, to Ksitigarbha and to Manjusri, and also the Repository Pavilionm for Buddhist Scriptures and the bell and the frum towers. The Hall to Maitreya, seven jian* in breadth and four jian* in length is the biggest of its kind in the monastery. With single eaves and a roof of fibve ridges, it is a sample of the Jin Dynasty architecture which remains relatively intact in the country despite the rabages of time.
