Golden Bamboo is grown widely throughout the tropics and subtropics. It is also one of the largest species of bamboo, and is easily recognizable growing in large, dense tufted clums. It grows rapidly year round, and spreads mainly through its roots or rhizomes. Golden Bamboo is a popular ornamental plant but can also used in construction, as a food source and for erosion control.
