Originally civilian vehicle produced by Hanomag GmbH since 1936 under 'Gigant' designation, after beginning of WWII it was adopted for military purpose as 'Hanomag SS-100'. It was most widely used heavy tractor both in Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe, as airfielfd tractor in last case, and got its legendary status as a tractor for the V-2 rocket and V-2 support trailers.
