Render:
This model is made to be rendered with mental ray however without changing anything it can be rendered in scan line with somewhat brighter but otherwise same results.

Other:
Number of Polygons and Vertices can be increased or decreased by changing number of segments on Geospheres. Everything comes ready to use just open and render.

Setup:
Earth is made of 3 layers each a different Geospheres, one for ground, clouds, and atmosphere. This makes it easy to remove layers or animate the planet. There is also a Geospheres in the scene that has the star map texture applied to it.

The Maya version comes with a volume light effect for atmosphere effect rather than using a sphere. Ground and clouds (also star map) are on poly-spheres and can have their poly count increased/decreased by increasing/decreasing their subdivision levels.

((((((((((((C4D Version))))))))))))))
C4D version is setup with light volume effect for atmosphere and all materials assigned, ready to render. Clouds, Ground, and stars are on spheres and the number of segments can, like the other versions, be increased or decrease by changing the number of segments on the spheres.
