Good model, UV mapped for bump and displacement detail.
The rig is all xpresso, great for learning / dissecting if you're interested, if not just animate a few sliders and enjoy.

The spring expands and contracts as the inner staple pusher slides along it's track, as the top is opened. The stapling action is true to life, the entire top arm moves until it makes contact with the base, then only the top moves.

If you scale the rig use the object tool, not the model tool.
To speed up rendering turn off the area shadows of the lights and only turn on sub-poly displacement if the bottom pad is visible.

Cinema 4d scene comes as seen in rendered thumbnails, lighting set up included.
