History
 
In 1974 Air France became a launch customer for theA300 twin-engined
widebodied plane,Industrie's first commercial airliner. Air France was a launch
customer for the revolutionary, fly-by-wire (FBW)A320 narrowbody twin, along
with Air Inter and British Caledonian. It became the first airline to take
delivery of the A320 in March 1988.
