Description
Fully rigged Cave Troll with all textures. Biped rigging makes animating this model easy and fun.
This well organized model has all of it's parts organized into seperate layers, making it easy to work with (see 'layers' image in gallery). This model is completely unwrapped and features uniquely painted texture maps.

ZIP file includes 3DS Max scene with texture maps for Diffuse Color, Displacement, Bump and Normal. All maps are 4096x4096 JPEGS and 16 bit TIFF (for diplacement).

PLEASE NOTE: Displacement on this creature is created with MentalRay displacement at the time of render. This is hugely advantageous in keeping a low poly count for animating, but requires that the scene be rendered using MentalRay. This utilizes 3DS Max's standard features and requires no third-party plugins.

This Max scene includes the Cave Troll with it's uncollapsed modifier stack which includes:
Editable Poly / Skin / Cloth / TurboSmooth
This allows for easy animation (for the novice) or complete customization (for the expert).

The creatures Biped control rig make animating tentacles easy and intuitive. This allows for the use of Max's Biped Tools such as Footstep Mode, Layers, and Copy/Past functionality. The Troll's mouth is animated using a custom 'jaw' bone that is linked to the head and allows for open/close as well lateral rotation.

The troll's loin cloth is set up with a cloth modifier. After animating the troll's biped rig just access the cloth modifier and hit 'Simulate' to have the cloth realistically react to the character's movement.
