Short range strike craft suitable for medium to long range visualization. Low-poly enough to use in modern game engines as a foreground or middle-ground asset. Not suitable for close-ups.
Renderer used is mental ray, but the model uses standard materials with Blinn shaders. It will work with any renderer and should convert to any software package with minimal data loss. Included are three 4096x4096 jpg textures as well as a 4000x2758 jpg background map. The background is a Hubble telescope image and easily obtainable on the internet. It is in the public domain, so I have included it here for your convenience.
The second archive contains two Photoshop documents (CS3) for the diffuse and ambient light textures used.
The atmospheric effect in the example animations is not included. The technique I used is very simple but also very high poly. It is simply an elongated, onion-skinned sphere with a falloff map in the opacity channel.
The animations are not included, they were produced using particle flow.
