The F/A-18E/F Super Hornet is a twin-engine carrier-based multirole fighter aircraft derived from the F/A-18C. The Super Hornet entered service with the United States Navy in 1999, replacing the F-14 Tomcat since 2006, and serves alongside the original Hornet.
The Tomcatters transitioned to the Super Hornet in 2006 and were redesigned VFA-31. In 2008 the squadron was deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom providing Close Air Support for the allied troops in Afghanistan.
The model is complete with the typical asymmetrical loadout for strike missions, adopted during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom: GBU-12, GBU-38, ATFLIR pod and AIM-9, AIM-120 for self defense.
Modelled in 1:1 real world scale, all parts are conveniently named and separated, textures and specular maps are 2048x2048 pixels and it has the following key-frame animations already in place:
