Star formation made with the Tycho2 star catalog.

This was modelled after the coordinate data from the tycho2 star catalog available at ESA. The coordinates were arranged and modified so that a open source plugin could read them in LW.

No plugins required-All stars and their respective coordinates have been already processed and adjusted.

About the Tycho-2 Catalogue. It is an astrometric reference catalog containing positions as well as two-colour photometric data for the 2.5 million brightest stars in the sky.

The Tycho-2 positions and magnitudes are based on precisely the same observations as the original Tycho Catalogue collected by the star mapper of the ESA Hipparcos satellite,
but Tycho-2 is much bigger and slightly more precise.

About half million stars (448577 points) in this model. All stars are shown in their respective magnitudes.

You can fly through the star fields, make nice starry skies, put realistic stars to your galaxies, add an earth planet, or just use them as space backgrounds for your landscape projects, the limit is your imagination!

You can use 7 'star profiles' stored in 7 scene files within the compressed folder.
Each file contains edited brightness, size, and star colors for your specific needs.

No need of plugins, this is a standalone model. For owners of Maas Digital´s Star Pro, this file should be able to be readable by Star Pro*.

Minimum:
Quad Core CPU with 4GB of RAM.
Recommended:
8-16 Core core system with 8GB+ of RAM. Intel i7, AMD Opteron or Xeon processors

*A renderfarm is highly recommended for HD visualizations.

*For less powerful systems, ie; Pentium´s 4 2.4GHz- 3.0GHz, Pentium D, Core 2 Duo, etc, a low res
scene (with 20,414 stars) is provided as well. Check the render shot below for more details.
