| The PP-19 Bizon is a submachine gun based on the AK-100 series of rifles, and fires the 9mm Parabellum cartridge. The most unusual feature of the Bizon is the high capacity helical magazine mounted underneath the weapon, similar to the type used by the Calico submachine gun. The Bizon is primarily intended for use by police and counter-terrorist units that require fast and accurate firepower at close ranges. The helical magazine also serves as the forearm of the wepon, and is comfortable to hold and reduces the profile of the weapon. Firing from a closed bolt, the Bizon is an accurate weapon in semi-automatic mode, and can provide heavy and sustained firepower in full-automatic mode. The Bizon weighs 2.1kg unloaded, and holds 64 rounds of 9mm ammunition on the helical magazine. It has a rate of fire of 600-700rpm, and an effective range of around 200 metres. |
