This type of style was common in suburbs outside of Chicago on major county, state, or US routes. You can still see existing ones through out the state. What makes these signals old? The fact that everytime these are wrecked in an automobile accident, the state traffic control no longer puts these multi truss designs up anymore, and replaces it with the single pole style now.
