This is the M1A2 SEP Abrams tank. This is by far, the most detailed Abrams tank ever built, and also the most accurate, there's a lot of Abrams models out there, but 99% of them are basically a mix between the versions of the Abrams (M1, M1A2 and etc) and/or lack details. This project took 9 months to be completed, gathering more than a 1700 photos, including books, documentary and videos, so that it could become the most detailed Abrams ever created. It was built entirely by subdvision modelling, which means you can apply meshsmmoth or turbosmooth, on any piece of the tank.
IMPORTANT: There's no meshsmooth or turbosmooth applied to it, so you can choose the level of subdivision as you wish, the poly count was done with the tank using meshsmooth lvl3, that's the level this model was meant to be used with, but then again, you can choose the level of iteration as you wish.
With more than a 376 million polygons, it's probably one of the most detailed models ever, You can take extremely up-close screenshots. This is the same model that i have shown on websites like cgsociety, military-meshes and mil-art if you do a quick search with my nickname you will be able to see my project.
Because of the large size of the files, i've split it into 4 parts, so you must unpack first, inside there's a readme.txt that will guide you. There's an extra pack which contains the tank in .obj format, in order to get all the zbrush pieces, you must download the pack that was split into 4 parts, and then, unpack, you'll see a folder with all the pieces made using zbrush.
The original file is 3DS Max 2009
There are two renders in 5760x3240 so you can see all the details very close.
