Nguni cow skin rug, modelled in 3ds max 2008, rendered with V-Ray 1.5 SP3. Uses V-RayFur, comes with V-Ray materials and textures. Nguni cattle owe their name to the different Nguni tribes that live in Southern Africa. The ancestors of the present day Nguni cattle were brought into the country by the southward migration of African peoples from the central lakes area of Africa. These cattle are still found wherever the descendants of the original groups of the Nguni tribe settled, namely Swaziland, Zululand and Mozambique. King Shaka of the Zulus bred Nguni cattle according to colour patterns in order to produce skins for the several regiments of his army. His personal guard wore pure white hides.
