The V-22Osprey is a joint service, multimission, military tilt rotor aircraft with both a vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) and short takeoff and landing capability (STOL). It is designed to perform missions like a conventional helicopter with the long-range, high-speed cruise performance of a turboprop aircraft. The initial operators are the U.S. Marine Corps and United States Air Force.
