Original design, never used. This version of the Proteus class cruiser is a simplified and reduced polygon count model of my original 2M+ polygon Proteus model (available here), to use in games. The cruiser`s turrets can be removed (that saves 10k polygons, without the turret the ship is around 50 000 polygon). It comes with much simplier UV maps (two 2048x2048, one ~1000x1000, and a few really small textures), and can be recolored very easily with simple texture swapping. (a few colors, like nato black, kure arsenal blue, or british green is included, along with some camo type textures). If an even lower detail model is needed, just dicard everything except the first two layers and you get a ~15k polygon model. I removed all the markings and nameplates from the original.
The model is realscale, the whole cruiser is 620m long and 240m wide. Modeled and rendered in Lightwave 11.5. All other formats are conversions and they might lack some of the Lightwave versions procedural textures or volumetric lights. Use the lws file if you are able.
NOTE: This model is not for movie or real close ups. It surely can be used in larger spaceship battles as a background unit, and it is good until you want to look it real close.
